Trial of strength between the top stars in Zurich

Skating in an impressive scenery

Zurich is one of the special highlights in the calendar of the WORLD INLINE CUP, as Switzerland is considered as the cradle of professional inline sport. The whole world elite is expected to come to Zurich to chase for points in the beautiful scenery of the banks of the Zurich Lake. Points can be collected not only for the overall ranking in the WORLD INLINE CUP but for the SWISS INLINE CUP, too. Since the teams did not start completely in the last competitions, they will all come together in Zurich for a real trial of strength between the teams. The athletes do not only focus on their own strength to be successful when the time is right.

As for the men, Yann Guyader (FRA/Powerslide Matter World) and Diego Rosero (COL/Rollerblade World) as well as Joey Mantia (USA/Luigino Atom World), the leaders in the overall ranking, will be in the centre of attention. The American Mantia is named to be one of the most successful skaters having an innumerable number of world cup titles. After winning the first competition of the WORLD INLINE CUP in Cartagena he did not present himself as one of the best in the other races. In Zurich we will see whether he can be again among the top stars.

What Joey Mantia is of the men, Cecilia Baena is one of the top talents of the ladies. Only last weekend the Colombian from the Powerslide Matter World Team was the winner of the WORLD INLINE CUP in Dijon. Her strongest competitors are those of the Bont Wheels Team.

But Zurich will not only be an event for a certain elite. It traditionally starts with a Kid’s Race in the morning, accompanied by Max & Donna. Then the competitions for Juniors, Fitness Skaters and ambitious non-professional athletes follow. The new category “Roller Ski” will be on the schedule of Zurich, too. These competitions will take place in the context of the Roller Ski Cup (www.roller-ski-cup.ch).
