Who will win the fastest marathon of the world?

Only a few days before the classic marathon from Maloja to S-chanf will start, a probable duel between the top athletes is standing in the centre of interest. It is possible that the men can reach times clearly below one hour. The Engadin Marathon is not only one of the fastest and highest marathon events worldwide, but also one of the most prestigious. The aim of everybody will be to collect points for the ranking in WORLD and SWISS INLINE CUP and moreover – to win.

The very picturesque track goes through beautiful Engadin from Maloja to S-chanf. It constantly leads downhill passing the Silser Lake and the Silvaplana Lake. Only up to Pontresina a little incline has to be managed. There the race gets into its decisive phase, as from the last turning point it constantly goes downhill and this very quickly to S-chanf.

As to the men, the overall leader Yann Guayader (FRA/Powerslide Matter) as well as the second Diego Rosero (COL/Rollerblade World) are expected to come. It is important for the Colombian to catch up with Guyader. Also Joey Mantia (USA/Luigino Atom World), who had “only” been third in Zurich and being accustomed to success, wants to win. Apart from this they have to pay attention to the winner of last year, Nicolas Iten (CH/Rollerblade World), who will certainly risk everything skating in front of a local crowd.

The Ladies, as well, had to risk a lot if they want to beat Cecilia Baena (COL) and her team-mates. In this season the Powerslide Matter Team is the most convincing one. Only last weekend in Zurich it made a treble.

Who has been at the Engadin Marathon once, will come back again - perhaps because there is the famous skater party in the Village in St. Moritz in the evening. The Engadin Marathon offers attractions for the whole family with a programme consisting of Kids race, Floorball Summer Cup and a stage of the Roller Ski Cup.
