TWO DAYS TO GO UNTIL THE WORLD INLINE CUP KICK-OFF 2025 IN FUNCHAL, MADEIRA (POR) ON 22 MARCH

Top WIC athletes from more than 10 countries represented

Berlin, 20 March 2025, In two days, the WORLD INLINE CUP 2025 will kick off in Funchal, Madeira (POR).

Embedded in the big MadRoller Skate Event on the tracks of the beautiful island, the marathon at the marina of Funchal is another highlight for the athletes.

Top teams such as SheaStokes, Doubleff, Manao FRSKATES, NL Racing and the local WIC Madeira Team will be on the starting line. Among the women, Aura Quintana (ESP) from SheaStokes, Gabriela Rueda (COL) from NL Racing and Jorun Geerts (BEL) from Doubleff are sure to be among the favourites.

In the men's race, Julio Mirena (PAR) from SheStokes will certainly try to defend his victory from last year. But the starting field is very strong. Nolan Beddiaf (FRA) from MANAO FRSKATES, Jorge Escobar (COL), Martin Ferrié (FRA) from SheaStokes, Patxi Peula (ESP) from NL-Racing and local hero Alfonso Silva from the WIC Madeira Team are just some of the top athletes who will be looking to challenge him for the crown.

A live stream is available for inline fans who will not have the opportunity to follow the race on site.

The WORLD INLINE CUP (WIC) is since 2000 the highest international marathon series for inline speed skaters. The world´s best skaters take part in the world's most demanding and biggest marathon races in Europe and Asia and meet fitness skaters from all over the globe. The overall winners will receive prize money after the season. Since 2014 the organizer of the WORLD INLINE CUP is IGUANA Deutschland GmbH
