WORLD INLINE CUP

The WORLD INLINE CUP (WIC) is since 2000 the highest international marathon series for inline speed skaters. The world´s best skaters take part in the world's most demanding and biggest marathon races in Europe and Asia and meet fitness skaters from all over the globe. The overall winners will receive prize money after the season. Since 2014 the organizer of the WORLD INLINE CUP is IGUANA Deutschland GmbH

Philosophy

The World Inline Cup stands for top sport. The best skaters in the world are at the start of every event. They appreciate the perfect organisation, the most beautiful and centrally-located courses, and the professional marketing of the Inline Skating sport in the media. And they know that the organisers of the Inline movement love the sport.

The World Inline Cup stands for mass movement. Every stage is also a festival on rollers without discrimination, without licenses. For the large masses the fun-oriented experience is first and foremost: the thrilling atmosphere, the pulsating program and the knowledge that the hobby skaters are taken just as seriously as the pros by hat organisers. The World Inline Cup is a platform for the entire family and with family-related services.

The World Inline Cup successfully combines sport, fun and adventure with culture. The core of events is the pulsating Inline Village with the best brands, the newest products and exciting activities. And of course, parties with imaginative catering are part of the experience.

NEWS

Noraly Berber Vonk (NED) and Bart Swings (BEL) win the WORLD INLINE CUP Final 2024 at the BMW Berlin Marathon Overall winner of the single ranking 2024 Bart Swings (BEL) and Aura Quintana Herrera (COL)

Berlin, 28 September 2024 The WIC final, which traditionally takes place as part of the BMW BERLIN MARATHON with more than 3,500 skaters, took place in ideal conditions on a modified circuit. In the heart of Berlin, Bart Swings (BEL) from the Powerslide Racing Team pulled away from the rest of the top-ranked field early on and won his 9th victory in Berlin at the Brandenburg Gate in the world's biggest road marathon. His team-mates Jason Suttels (BEL) and Felix Rijhnen (GER) crossed the finish line in second and third place, one and a half minutes behind. After 5 international marathons in Portugal, France, China, Switzerland and Germany, Bart Swings won the 2024 WIC overall victory in the men's single ranking.

The women's race remained exciting right up to the final sprint. Against the unique backdrop of the Brandenburg Gate, Noraly Berber Vonk (NED) from SPSPSK World Team came out on top in the final metres ahead of Johana Viveros (COL) from Bearings Team and Noraly’s team-mate Aura Quintana Herrera, also from Colombia. Here it was once again very close in the overall WIC ranking. Thanks to her third place in the final, Aura Quintana was able to move up from second to first place in the WIC overall ranking and successfully defend her overall victory from the previous year.

In the women's team ranking, the SPSPSK World Team won the overall victory in this year's WIC season. With only 22 points ahead of the Dutch-Belgian DOUBLEff World Inline Team, they were able to win the overall victory.

In the men's team ranking, the Powerslide Racing Team successfully defended its victory from the previous year. The Shea Stokes Team took second place ahead of the NL Premium Team.

Today's race with the modified circuit was a new challenge for everyone. But both the organisers and the athletes, from top skaters to fitness skaters, successfully mastered the new circuit. The BMW BERLIN MARATHON was once again a grand final for the WORLD INLINE CUP against a magnificent backdrop” said Volker Schlichting, Executive Director WORLD INLINE CUP.
