WORLD INLINE CUP IN HARBIN, CHINA BROUGHT FORWARD TO SATURDAY 29 JULY 2023
Last details and programme finalised
Berlin, Harbin, 6 April 2023. On the occasion of the signing ceremony at the Linda World Carnival in Harbin, it has been decided to bring forward the 2023 CHINA HARBIN WORLD INLINE CUP Marathon from Sunday morning (30 July) to Saturday afternoon (29 July). After the official opening and races of children and national skaters, the marathon for the International WIC athletes and Chinese elite skaters will take place on Saturday at 15.00 local time. The big inline skating day will end with a festive evening event.
In addition to the key points for the social programme, details regarding travel support for WIC athletes from Europe and accommodation have also been finalised.
"The organisers of the CHINA HARBIN WORLD INLINE CUP want to celebrate the return to the race series with a big sports and cultural festival together with top athletes from Europe and other continents. The World Carnival location and the entire programme will be a special experience for all participants. That's why we have agreed with the organisers to bring the marathon forward from the morning of 30 July to the afternoon of 29 July. On one hand, it fits much better into the overall sportive and social programme on site in Harbin, furthermore it minimises the effect of jet lags for athletes coming from Europe during the race. On the other hand, a joint celebration at the China Harbin World Inline Cup award ceremony on Saturday evening and a departure on Sunday is certainly much easier to organise for both the international and national athletes alike. We thank Zhao Zhu Bo, Party Secretary and Director of Harbin Sports Bureau and Dong Bai Quan, President of Harbin Roller Skating Association and their teams for the support and efforts to resume our successful co-operation from pre-pandemic years”, said Petr Stastny during his visit to Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in north-eastern China.
The CHINA HARBIN WORLD INLINE CUP is a TopClass race with a total prize money of 20,000 USD.
