NEWS RELEASE 2 DAYS TO GO UNTIL THE LAST RACE OF THE 25TH WIC SEASON ASSOCIATED RACE ON 27 OCTOBER IN SARASOTA, USA

Sarasota, Berlin 25th October 2024 – With only two days remaining until the final race of the 25th season of the WORLD INLINE CUP (WIC) in Sarasota, Florida, excitement is building. Despite visible impacts from Hurricane Helene across Florida, the race is confirmed to go ahead as planned. According to the organizers, registrations have significantly increased compared to last year.

An international field of WIC athletes is expected at the starting line, representing 17 nationalities. Notable participants include Paraguayan Julio Mirena, currently ranked 4th in the 2024 WIC overall standings, and his SheaStokes Inline Speed Team teammate Carlos Tarazona from Spain, ranked 9th. Also competing are France’s Hugo Gerard (6th place), Estonia’s Antti Haljak (13th place), and Colombia’s Maria Camila Vargaz Pinzon from NL Premium Team.

The Sarasota race is an Associated Race and is not part of the official WIC ranking, as the season finale took place in Berlin at the end of September. We wish all the athletes and organizers great success in closing out this memorable 25th WIC season!

With races in Rennes (France), Funchal (Portugal), Harbin (China), Bern (Switzerland), Berlin (Germany), and Sarasota (USA), the 25th anniversary season of the WORLD INLINE CUP spans six countries on three continents, affirming its status as the world’s largest, most prestigious, and longest-standing international inline marathon series.
