After thrilling races in Incheon (KOR), Rennes (FRA), Dijon (FRA), Ostrava (CZE) and for the first time Harbin (CHN), skaters will compete for overall victory in the 2017 WORLD INLINE CUP at the final, the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON INLINESKATING, this Saturday, 23rd September, in the German capital.

The world’s biggest Inline Marathon, where this year with more than 5,500 participants even more skaters than last year will compete, is not only the final of the WIC but also of the GERMAN INLINE CUP.

The men’s race for WORLD INLINE CUP victory is closer than ever. Eight skaters still can dream of lifting the trophy on Saturday, whereas the top three are separated by merely 15 points - currently first is Jakob Ulreich (AUT) with 345 points, second is is Alexander Bastidas (VEN) with 334 pts. And third Ewen Fernandez (FRA, Powerslide/Matter Racing Team) with 330 pts. Among those also still having a chance for the overall win are Patxi Peula (ESP, EOSkates World Team), Bart Swings (BEL) and Felix Rijhnen (GER) from the Powerslide/Matter Racing Team, Ondrey Suchy, Michal Prokop and Stepan Svab (all three Czech National Team), Jonggil Kang (KOR) and Yann Guyader (FRA, RollerBlade World Team).

In the women’s race, with 399 points, Germany’s Katharina Rumpus (Powerslide/Matter Racing Team) enjoys a more comfortable lead over Nana Lee (KOR, 288 points) and Ana Odlazek (SLO, 274 points). But with 210 points at stake for Berlin’s winners (182 points for 2nd, 168 points for 3rd etc.) the competition still will be tough.

For the first time, the WORLD INLINE CUP will also award the best male and female junior skaters (born between 1998 and 2001). Currently in the lead are Martin Ferrie (FRA, EOSkates World Team) and Chloe Geoffroy (FRA).

Both men’s and women’s team rankings are currently led by Powerslide/Matter Racing Team (men: 870 pts, women: 399 pts). In the men’s ranking they are closely followed by the Czech National Team (687 points) and the EOSkates World Team (548 points); in the women’s ranking SAM Racing Team is second with 90 points and Castellon Spain Roller Marathon third with 73 points.
