12 WIC Teams and top WIC athletes from more than 10 countries represented

Berlin, 13 March 2026, 2 days remain until the much-anticipated kick-off of the WORLD INLINE CUP 2026 in the charming city of Funchal, Madeira. Embedded in the big MadRoller Skate Event on the tracks of the beautiful island, the marathon at the marina of Funchal is always a highlight of the season for the athletes.
Top teams such as SheaStokes, Doubleff, Manao FRSKATES, NL Racing, Powerslide, Rollerblade SPSPSK and the local WIC Madeira Team will be on the starting line with their official WIC male and female teams. Last year's winner of the WIC in Funchal and overall winner of the 2025 WORLD INLINE CUP, Aura Quintana (ESP) from the SheaStokes World Team, faces strong competition at the starting line this year. Her teammate, Marine Lefeuvre from France, Noraly Berber Vonk from the Netherlands from the ROLLERBLADE SPSPSK WORLD TEAM, her French teammate and winner of the BMW BERLIN MARATHON 2025 Aubane Plouhinec, Lianne van Loon (NED) from Doubleff, winner of the WIC races in Funchal and Harbin in 2024, and Gabriela Rueda (COL) from Team NL Racing, who came third in Funchal in 2025, are just some of the top athletes travelling to Madeira for this year's kick-off.
The men's starting field is no less impressive. Among those announced are Felix Rijhnen (GER) from the Powerslide Vesmaco World Team, overall runner-up in the 2024 WIC, Julio Mirena (PAR) from the SheaStokes World Team and winner of the WIC 2024 in Funchal, his teammates Carlos Tarazona (ESP), third in Funchal 2025, and Martin Ferrié (FRA), Patxi Peula (ESP) from the NL Racing Team and runner-up in Funchal 2025, Hugo Gerard (FRA) , WIC overall runner-up in 2025 from ROLLERBLADE SPSPSK and his teammate Daniel Niero (ITA).
The WIC Marathon at Funchal Marina traditionally marks the end of the MadRoller Skate Event, which will take place on 13 and 14 March with top-class competitions on the island's two fantastic tracks.
