Top Starting Field At The Second Stop Of The 2018 WIC In Rennes

After the season launch in Castellon/Oropesa in March, the 2018 edition of the WORLD INLINE CUP will have his second leg this Sunday, 27th May, with a marathon race in Rennes, France.

 

8 top teams with elite skaters from 14 countries will come to the Breton capitol

For the 36th edition of "Rennes sur Roulettes", international elite and leisure skaters will come to the beautiful Breton city competing for more points in the race for the WORLD INLINE CUP 2018. The course had again been optimized and will take the skaters on 14 laps of 3 km each through the city.

This year international female and male top skaters from 14 countries like Mexico, Ukraine, Slovenia, Italy, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Spain, Columbia, New Zealand, Venezuela, Belgium, Poland and Germany have been registered. Also, an increased number of international top teams like Powerslide / Matter Racing Team, Rollerblade World Team, EOSkates World Team, BONT Team, In-Gravity International Team, Castellon Spain Roller Marathon, Czech National Team, SAM Racing Team will compete for team ranking points.

They will bring some of the best skaters of the world to Brittany like for example Felix Rijhnen and Bart Swings (Powerslide), Ewen Fernandez (Rollerblade), Nolan Beddiaf (EOSkates), Alexander Bastidas (In-Gravity), Gary Hekman (BONT Skates), Katharina Rumpus (Powerslide), Aura Quintana Herrera (EOSkates), Mannon Kamminga (BONT Skates), Laura Esbri Corbella (Castellon Spain Marathon Team) as well as individual skaters such as Juliette Pouydebat from France, and Ana Odlazek from Slovenia.

With nearly 2.000 elite and leisure skaters and 25’000 expected spectators in the city, the 36th Rennes sur Roulettes roller festival with two days of roller sport will once again be one of the European top events of roller sport.


Calendar 2018

The next stops of the 2018 WORLD INLINE CUP, the world´s premier speed skating marathon, will be Dijon on the 10th of June and Ostrava on the 16th of June. On the 14th of July, the WIC will make a stop in Harbin, China. The race for the Cup will see its final this year at the 45th BMW Berlin Marathon Inlineskating on 15th September. The date of Incheon is expected to be announced end of June.
