First Top Class Race held on 24th May 2020 - Agreement signed for four years

After introducing Harbin, China in 2017, the organisers of the WORLD INLINE CUP (WIC) are proud to announce that the world’s largest inline marathon series will have a new leg in Colombia, worldwide one of the most successful and popular countries of Inline skating.

The WIC Top Class race will be held from 2020 through 2023 in the city of Barranquilla, the capital of Atlántico department in Colombia, the city of 365 days of carnival, of thriving and smiling people, known as the home of the Colombian National Soccer Team and of the world skating champion Alex Cujavante. It is characterised as the sports capital thanks to its great infrastructure and is considered one of the most important in the whole country and hosted international events such as the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. Barranquilla is undoubtedly very well positioned to stage a WIC 2020 marathon and will moreover host the 2020 Copa America Soccer Final too.

We are very pleased that in 2020 the WORLD INLINE CUP will not only be hosted in several European countries and China but in Colombia too. For the inline sport Colombia is one of the most important countries and we are convinced that it is a strong signal that the contract was signed for four years. We are sure that the huge inline community in Colombia will bring the WORLD INLINE CUP to an even higher level than it already had and will provide the elite skaters with a new opportunity. Within the framework of the international calendar, we intend to grow our series and continue to develop our sport globally”, said Petr Stastny, President of the WORLD INLINE CUP:
