MARINE BALANANT (FRA), BONT EUROPE TEAM AND BART SWINGS (BEL), POWERSLIDE RACING TEAM WIN THE KICK OFF OF THE WORLD INLINE CUP 2023 IN RENNES, FRANCE

Rennes, 4th June 2023. The first stage of the WORLD INLINE CUP 2023 started in the Breton capital Rennes today in perfect weather.

The starting fields in both the women's and men's races were very high class.

In the women's race, the French Marine Balanant and Julia Nizan (BONT EUROPE TEAM) with Marine Lefeuvre, FRA (EOSKATES WORLD TEAM) and Aura Quintana Herrera, COL were among the favourites.

The favourite team stayed close together in an exciting race until the end. At the finish line, Marine Balanant, last year's overall WIC winner, was able to beat Marine Lefeuvre and Aura Quintana Herrera.

In the men's race, the field of favourites was also very exciting. Bart Swings, BEL, Felix Rijhnen, GER and Jason Suttels, BEL (all Powerslide Racing Team) were of course among the favourites. But also Nolan Beddiaf and Martin Ferrié, FRA (both EOSkates World Team), Doucelin Pedicone and Timothy Loubineaud, FRA (both BONT Europe Team) and Patxi Peula, ESP and Carlos Taranzona, VEN (both Rollerblade World Team) promised an exciting race. But with Hugo Gerard or Louis Colin, FRA, there were other top skaters on the starting line.

Bart Swings started the race with a strong start but crashed in the first lap. All the more astonishing that he nevertheless maintained his lead and even extended it. He confidently led the field and continuously extended his lead lap after lap. After 42 kilometres, he crossed the finish line in first place with a lead of over three minutes. His teammate Felix Rijhnen came in second, ahead of Martin Ferrié.
